Thank You

I just want to thank the 3,000+ people who felt I had something to offer Los Alamos. Unfortunately we didn't have enough or didn't say the right words. But we gave it our best effort and to me that's more important than anything else. I fought hard to keep the Skate park in front of the Library and that's where it is and when I stood there in front of all of those kids and their parents came to me and thanked me for my efforts and fighting for their kids I was proud to say "You're Welcome". I said a lot of things to people that they didn't like to hear. I threw things back in their faces and let them know that those kids are just as deserving as the privileged and the rich and the elite students and jocks in this town. I pissed off a few people and maybe those ones launched a campaign to defeat me I don't know. I may not have won this election but I'm definitely not a loser by any means. I stood up for the kids that very few leaders in this community would stand up for and to see those happy kids means more to me than winning any election.
So once again
Thank you all for your support.

Manny, as you and Ken Milder discovered, doing what's right sometimes has to be its own reward. I am sorry that Sharon Stover did not stand up and speak for the park during the meeting in White Rock where Wismer's petition was discussed. Playing it safe rather than standing up for what you believe in is not exactly a profile in courage.

This is true I just know that no matter what I already won when I was at the grand opening and more people were thanking me than the councilors for the Skatepark. That was one victory of me and for the real people of this community and the first of many. I am not going to go away.. Look for me to run again in 2010...
